Imagine the scenario where you only pay for the days of a finance director you need. Picture what it would be like to have the skills of a high calibre FD, but at a fraction of the cost of a full time finance director.

You may already be aware of the average cost of a full time finance director in the UK. This is upwards of £100,000+ per annum (this does depend on your location). That’s before adding the additional employment costs of employers National Insurance, paying for holiday, and pension costs.

But most small to medium sized business don’t need a full time finance director. However, it is recommended to have an FD part of the time, to help with the business finances and strategy.

The minimum recommended amount of time for a part time FD would be at least one day per month. But on average you are probably looking at somewhere between 2 and 8 days per month, depending on the size of your organisation and what’s required.

Sometimes you may require more days per month at the start of the service, but then the number of days can be reduced down once the systems and processes have been set in place.

The cost of my interim and part time FD services are as follows:

  • One day per month – £1,000 per day.
  • Two days and over per month – £900 per day.

In addition to the daily rate, if you add a further £500 per month to the fee, you will have unlimited access to me on the phone and email outside of the days that are committed to you.*

Also, in addition to the above rates, all reasonable travel and disbursement costs are charged and VAT will be added to the rates listed. Payments are to be made monthly in advance and there’s no minimum tie in period, as you can simply cancel before the end of the last paid-for month.

* Please note that when the interim FD is working at another client they will be dedicating time to that client. This means that they will not usually answer their phone in this time. But calls will be returned to help you with your request.
