Russell Bowyer - Interim FD

Imagine having someone with you on your business journey, every step of the way… Someone who knows a thing or two about business. A person who knows lot about finance, plus has a good knowledge of corporation tax too.

You’re in safe hands because I’m experienced in business. But also a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.

My name is Russell Bowyer, I’ve had my successes, as well as my failures, which all add to the experience I bring to the table.

I owned and grew a manufacturing and retail business, which I sought-out, carried out the due diligence, raised the finance and bought. This small business I grew from sales of £1.6 million to a turnover of around £2.6 million.

Within the first few weeks of buying this business I was sacking someone for gross misconduct for fighting in the factory.

Prior to owning the manufacturing business, I also helped grow a failing elderly home care business. At the time I invested, the business had circa £300k turnover, which grew to £1.1 million sales. I invested as a third shareholder in this business and became the managing director/finance director of the company.

Day one of investing in this business, the first thing I had to deal with was a staff walk-out!

Prior to running these SME businesses I owned and operated my own Chartered Accounting practice for over ten years. In this time as an adviser to many SME businesses, I helped business owners with their accounts, corporation tax, helped them raise finance and helped them to grow their businesses. I was also their confidant and many times their shoulder to cry on.

I know how lonely it can be at the top. I also know that not all business owners have the time to spend looking at the finances of their business. There are also only a few entrepreneurs who are able to understand their numbers as much as they should. This is why outsourcing the function of finance director to a part-time FD or an interim FD comes in.
